One Day Trip from Jagadhri

The following are options for a day trip from Jagadhri. Tourists can choose any one of them and enjoy one day out of the city with friends and family:The Jungle Machaan and Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary via Ban Santur
This is one of the best ways to spend a lovely day within the wild life. However, it is advisable to stay overnight in the reserve to get the glimpses of the wild animals better. The Kalesar Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over 11,000 acres. The most striking feature of this national reserve is that the forest department has made Machaans or observation posts for visitors near the water bodies inside the reserve. The visitors can have an exciting and thrilling experience of climbing to a tree house and spend a lovely time watching the animals drink water.
Ban Santur is a village situated on the way to Kalesar from Jagadhri. It is rumored that this village is associated with King Shantanu of Mahabharata.
One must start at 9 am in the morning from Jagadhri. The National Park is situated at about 38 kilometers and will take 3 hours to reach. The tourists can stop over Ban Santur to witness the foundation of the great epic of Indian history.
Roaming around in the wild reserve depends upon tourists. It can be explored for days by those who are interested in wildlife photography and general zoology. It can be experienced in a few hours with the experience of tranquility within a forest. Arrangement of food should be a priority in this tour. It is advisable to carry dry packed lunch.

Bilaspur and KapalMochan via Chachhrauli
Bilaspur is situated about 15 kilometers from Jagadhri and is a historical place. People visit the holy ponds and Ashram of Ved Vyas. There are other relevant tourist spots relating to both Hindus and Sikhs. The return route from Bilaspur should be via Chachhrauli which is another historical place for the Sikhs. In between Chachhrauli and Bilaspur, one must stop over to pay a visit to Panchmukhi Shri Hanuman Mandir.This trip will also take the whole day especially since there are a number of spots to stop over and pay a visit. One must start early in the morning advisably around 8-9 am. There are many food joints near the tourist spots. One may carry food but is not required in this tour. Visit in Bilaspur will take around 2 hours which will be about 11 am. Drive down to Panchmukhi Shri Hanuman Mandir before lunch.
Have lunch at 12 noon to 1 pm. Drive till Chachhrauli and spend about 1 – 2 hours in the village which culminates at 4 pm to 5 pm in the evening. Drive back to Jagadhri by Evening 6 pm.
Hathnikund Barrage

It is situated at about 28.5 kilometer from Jagadhri. One must take the whole day to visit the barrage since it provides a panoramic view. Local shopping and picnic can be arranged near the barrage for tourists who want to spend a day amidst the scenic beauty. There are no strict itineraries for this tour since it depends upon the tourist group. The Journey to and fro will consume about one and half hours by car.
Buria via Chaneti
Buria is a small village about 8 kilometers from Jagadhri. Though it is not very far but it has a long list of tourist attractions which will consume about the whole day. Visit the historical places and proceed for Pataleswar Shiv Mandir. If a tourist starts at about 9 am in the morning, he can take a tour of the Gurdwara and other historical monuments by 12 noon. Have lunch at one of the dhabas in Buria. Then take a look at the Pataleswar Shiv Mandir which is an old temple in this place.Start back at about 1 pm and enter Chaneti. Visit the Buddhist Stupa and come back to Jagadhri by 4 pm in the evening for tea and relaxation.
